WWII British Military GS/TP Helvetia Pocket Watch 52mm – Broad Arrow – Runs –...

£129.00

Description

Here for sale is an original WWII era British Military GS/TP pocket watch manufactured by Helvetia (General Watch Co. Switzerland) .

These watches were issued to British forces during the late 1930s–1940s and are identifiable by the GS/TP military marking and broad arrow stamp inside the caseback.

The watch measures approximately 52mm excluding the crown , making it a larger military example.

The white enamel dial is signed Helvetia and remains in good original condition for its age with only minor age related marks and a faint hairline visible near the centre. All numerals, hands and subsidiary seconds dial are present.

The case shows honest service wear consistent with military use but remains solid.

Inside is the original Helvetia Calibre 32A 15 jewel Swiss movement signed General Watch Co. Switzerland .

The watch winds, runs and ticks , however it runs slow and currently stops after approximately 6–7 hours . When wound again it restarts and runs.

This suggests the watch will likely require a service and possibly a mainspring replacement to restore full running performance.

As with all vintage military watches, it is therefore being sold as an unrestored example .

A good original WWII British military pocket watch ideal for collectors, restoration or displa y Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
